Today’s Gore Hall farmers are the seventh generation of our family-run business; brothers David and Richard, who together with their father John, run the business on a day-to-day basis. We have 400 acres of land on the West Lancashire plains around Gore Hall, with a further 12 acres of computer controlled glass houses.
We farm 400 acres of outdoor land and some 12 acres of computer controlled glasshouses, based around Gore Hall Farm in West Lancashire.
This is also the base for our offices, workshop, warehouse and glasshouses. The products are harvested in the fields on our own specially designed rigs. We are committed to producing safe, fresh crops throughout the growing season.
In 2012 we have developed growing by Hydroponics. This has enabled us to grow living lettuce which is sold as a living product. It is grown floating on water in polystyrene floats and this dramatically reduces the use of pesticides. This is an ecologically sound way of growing when compared to conventional growing methods.
We are a long established company and we like to be innovative and forward-thinking.Over 20 million heads of fresh salads are produced from April to November by 100 staff. We are a quality focused business aiming to get things right first time. We value our staff and many have more than 20 years service.
Big enough to deliver; small enough to care!We supply the major supermarkets, wholesale markets and independent customers many of whom we have served for over 30 years. We are always looking at ways to consistently improve both our products and service to our customers and would welcome your feedback on any issue.
